27th January 2019

Hello readers, it's that time of the week again already.

Firstly can I welcome our new members from the South Coast to their first #sundaymorningwalk from the Midlands, I hope you can understand my Brummie sense of humour.

7.37am as I set the timer on the oven for 1hr 25 min to cook the seasoned joint of beef to perfection, I check the temperature outside, 3 degrees but with a wind chill of - 4 it's on with the big quilted coat, hat and no gloves, im off out of the backdoor for another adventure on my #sundaymorningwalk

I know I can't be out for too long as I need to get back to remove the joint from the oven as the gaffer likes her meat a certain way and I'd hate to disappoint her.

So with one eye on the clock I head towards the lake, walking the reverse way to my normal route just to mix things up a bit.

I head to towards Church Hill centre crossing the bus lane for the first time and on to Church Hill South.

Every town has its handful of idiots but why anyone would want to push over a bench is beyond me,

don't get me wrong we used to like a laugh when we were kids but we didn't destroy things, postman's knock, hedging and scrumping were the worst we got up to (honest dad😉).

Onward I walk the, sky clearing with the dawning of the sun, the half moon looking glorious against the crisp blue sky
and in the other direction the sky on fire with the brightness of the sun

100% on the Good Morning front today, fellow walkers, cyclists, joggers and even doggers pausing from their activities to exchange the morning greeting. If you're going out this morning to fetch a paper of for a stroll along the seafront please try and speak those two little words, you never know you may get a response and even a smile in return.

I get halfway around the lake and check the time,
realising I'll never make it all the way round and home in time for the meat I do what is totally unnatural for us boys, I turn round and go back the way I came but only as far as the visitor centre as I know I have time to walk up the path behind Winyates West up to the bus lane.

Lots of Robins around recently, they seem to be the norm now with their red breasts and wonderful song, however I am not complaining.

The babbling Brook is happy as its flowing quickly after the recent rainfall.

I make it full circle and cross the bus lane for the second time and head for home. Still no trollies about but I did see a lonesome glove placed on a post, I'll keep an eye out for more.

Just over an hours walk today a gentle 5k in the cool January air. The lovely smell of roast beef greets me as I enter the back door.

Just have time to unload the dishwasher before taking the meat out and covering with baking paper to let it rest and keep moist.

I have a different walk planned for next week readers so stay tuned for a nice suprise.

If you're having any work done on your house at the moment, it will get finished, although you don't think it will and it will all be worth it in the end, although it may be a bit cold without a radiator.

A very happy birthday to young master Monk down in Eastbourne, have a wonderful day and hope you get lots of presents.

Until next week, have a great Sunday everyone and if you know anyone who you think may like to join in on my wittering on a Sunday morning then please share the group with them and ask them to join. We have 85 members at the moment and if we hit 100 our new admin Katy Veevers has promised a free drink if she should see you out and about.

Ta-ra for a bit
