20th January 2019

Hello again readers, it's that time of the week again, so at just before 7.56am I'm off out of the front door on another #sundaymorningwalk.

Front door? I hear you say, yes it's not a typo. Slight change of plan, we were expecting to be entertaining the pearly King and Queen of Plaistow this weekend but with the sudden arrival of Felicity on Monday we couldn't wait to see the new arrival so headed down to the (not so) sunshine Coast on Thursday evening, after work yes after work, hardcore 😉.

Anyway its a cool 2 degrees as I leave the house but I soon warm up as I march on.

I take the wide path between houses that leads to Lottebridge Drove.
The cut to my right seems well maintained and a few moorhens glide past.

A cyclist tinkles her bell warning of her passing from my rear, I hold my hand up in acknowledgement and say good morning as she flies past.

A couple of bright lycra cladded joggers/stumblers approach slowly, I greet them with a good morning, alright is the grunted response, still any response is a positive one, I will continue in my quest to get you Southerners to say good morning to complete strangers.

I cross Churchdale and must be getting closer to Lottebridge as the litter from Mackies starts to increase and as I cross Wickes car park I see the golden arches, a steady flow of cholesterol hunters line the drive through, not my choice of breakfast but each to their own.

I turn right into a quiet Seaside and spot my first trolley,
outside someone's front door? Maybe they have it in a lease and pay Tesco for the hire of it 😉.

Onward I trot past our Friday night watering hole,
I turn right into Whitely I pass an elderly lady, we make eye contact and wish each other good morning, how nice.

On the corner of St Philips Ave i come across my second trolley of the morning just dumped on the corner of the road, how sad..

I wonder if I can find a third for the hattrick?
Turning right into Waterworks I continue my walk, an abanded car has a 7 day notice for removal and destruction on the windscreen, to my knowledge its been there for quite a few months.

Turning left towards ESK I spot my third trolley of the morning, it had skillfully been lifted over a gate and dumped near the cut.
The Capital of the abandoned shopping trolley being true to its word.

Making my way back to a warm and quiet care home I sit and reflect on my walk. Just over 4k in 52 mins, a few calories burnt off after last night's not so pleasant meal.

The small part of Seaside that I walked seems to be over run with Chinese takeaways, mini supermarkets, cafes and bathroom showrooms, they must all be making a profit as they wouldn't be trading.
Anyway, must go now as we're meeting a Lord and Lady for breakfast (in one of those cafes on Seaside).

Have a great Sunday everyone and thanks for reading.
So until next time when I should be back on home territory, in the countryside of North Worcestershire unless something else occurs in the week ahead.

If you have a long drive today, drive safely and its nice to hear some music whilst your passenger sleeps (hopefully)😊

Ta-ra for a bit
